How to set up Bar coded labels for Library books

The barcodes for library are set up under:

Utility> Card Templates> Module: Library > Entity: Bar code / Spine Tag / Catalog card.

A) Under 1st tab of Template settings, set up the Template name and choose front Side

B) Under 2nd Tab of Card settings, label output size will be set up.
      
Template setup take Card Height and Width in Pixels.
        Method Adapted for Calculations:
          1) Measure label size in mm / cm
          2) Convert the same in Pixels using web based conversion tools.
          3)These will be the card height and width in Pixels.
          4) Check if the individual labels have a border that will be left on Sticker sheet after peeling off the label. If yes, measure the same and convert to pixels. It will be inserted in Card Col space for gaps between 2 columns and Card row space for gaps between 2 rows.

          5) Print Style will Single side on a Page.
          6) Choose border as single if you want a border as a part of printout, otherwise select None. (None is recommended for pre cut / perforated label sheets.)
          7) Cards on page has to be input with the maximum total numbers of labels that can be printed on a sheet. (Rows * Columns)

C) Under 3rd tab of Page Settings, Page size and Overall print margins can be set up. Please note that these are in cm.

D) Under 4th Tab of Fields, you can drag and place the fields that are required. The fields in Red are the Barcode images and other fields can be chosen from the Blue fields like Accession Number, Author Mark, Subject etc as per the need.

These settings should be ideally sufficient for setting up your Library Barcodes.

Please Note: Do not resize the Bar Codes Vertically or Horizontally.  It should be done only DIAGONALLY.


To generate the outputs, go to:
Utility> Card Reports> Module: Library > Template: Choose the template set by you from dropdown
OR

LIBRARY> Reports > Card Reports> Module: Library > Template: Choose the template set by you from dropdown (Only if Library user has been given rights to these reports)


E) To Print the Barcode Labels:
  1. Choose required Library
  2. Input the required label range in "Accession number From" and "Accession number To" given in the search grid.
  3. The listed Labels can be directly generated by Print mode and then giving print command. You do not need to checkmark each label individually.
  4. If some labels are required from a given range, lets say that out of 20, 12 different labels need to be printed, put a check mark on the required Accession Numbers and generate print. Only the selected labels will be printed.
